Examples of Work

Through internships at the Canberra Times, ABC Canberra and Canberra FM as well as my university degree at University of Canberra I have had the opportunity to produce high quality work that has been published.

The Journey of Dusty’s Pens and the man who makes them, Peter Field

Ability News , TBC 2022

I was paired up with Ablity News to write a feature article with an accompanying video. Ability News is a start up media organization wanting to write stories about people living with a disability. Peter Feilds reached out to me after I contacted Canberra Blind Society that I was looking to interview someone who made things while living with vision impairment. Peter handmakes pens and invited me to interview him and film the process. The result was a lovely story, still in the works to be published soon.

The Canberra Times, July 25 2022

In the first week of my internship at the Canberra Times I pitched the idea of an article on the rising black market for 3D printed gun blueprint, I sourced and interviewed contacts and wrote up the story.

The article was published the week following and given a one page spread.

'Macenmist Farm truffles to be used in a degustation dinner at Parliament House'.

The Canberra Times, July 21 2022

During my time interning at the Canberra Times I travelled to Macenmist Farm in Bredbo. I went to go truffle hunting and interview Executive Chef at Parliament House, David Learmonth. The opportunity to write on a topic I had never written on was a challenge, however the feedback I received from The Times was overwhelmingly positive. It was published on a full page spread and online.

Treatment missing the mark for women with PCOS

ABC Canberra, 22 June 2022

While interning at ABC Canberra, I was encouraged to pitch stories.,. I wanted to share my personal struggle with PCOS, as I felt that my younger self would have benefitted from knowing that it was something others were struggling with too. The unfortunate reality is that many women in the ACT struggle with PCOS without having access to a specialist due to healthcare shortages.

I wrote the introduction for the presenter, Addi Frances to read and was interviewed on the Drive program.
