JOURNALIST, CANBERRA FM
June 2022 - present
I started out at Canberra FM in December 2021 as a street teamer. I then worked towards getting into the newsroom. In April of 2022 I succeeded in acquiring a internship which led to a casual position. I have since graduated to the position of full time journalist on the breakfast shift alongside News Director Lewis Haskew.
CANBERRA TIMES INTERN
July 11th - 22nd , 2022
My internship at the Canberra Times was in the newsroom, working closely with Chief of Staff, Scott Hannaford. During my time there, i took every opportunity to learn. In total I was published seven times, with three articles given full page spreads. I was required to pitch interesting ideas, find and interview sources and produce articles in a short time frame.
ABC CANBERRA INTERN
June 6th - 17th 2022
During my internship with ABC Canberra, I spilt my time between the newsroom and working alongside producers of radio programs. I had multiple pitches taken on and developed into topics for radio programs, including one on PCOS where I was interviewed. I also was filmed carrying out vox pops for the ABC's instagram. I was tasked to pitch ideas that would intrigue listeners, write scripts and find sources for presenters to interview.
